Islamabad Police Arrests Men For Harassing Foreign Female Tourists

The Islamabad Police on Tuesday arrested four suspects for harassing three foreign female tourists in Shakarparian, a famous tourist spot in the Federal Capital, on Independence Day (14^th August 2022).

The development comes after viral videos were shared on social media showing the harassment faced by the female foreigners when they visited Shakarparian to join Pakistan’s Independence Day celebrations.

According to the details, the Islamabad Police has registered a case against the suspects in the Aabpara Police Station and videos that were allegedly filmed by the suspects have also been recovered from their mobile phones.

The Islamabad Police sent the viral videos of the incident to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), which helped to identify the suspects misbehaving with the foreign female tourists.

In the viral videos, three foreigners, including two women and a man were being harassed by a mob in Shakarparian on Independence Day. The foreigners could be seen helplessly standing in a crowd of locals with some youngsters attempting to forcefully take selfies with the female tourists.

These men also misbehaved with the foreign female tourists.

However, there were some voices that could be heard in the background that asked the crowd to disperse and do not disturb them.
