Meanwhile, a heavy contingent of police has been deployed at Faizabad, while prison vans and ambulances have been instructed to stay alert. Moreover, the Islamabad Police has dispatched water cannons in order to disperse the protestors if needed.
The authorities have imposed Section 144, which means no meeting, procession, or gathering will be allowed within the limits of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT). However, the sudden closure of Faizabad Interchange and Murre Road has caused traffic jam and long queues of vehicles on the highway between the twin cities.
Islamabad and Rawalpindi Traffic Plan
According to the traffic plan provided by the Islamabad Police, there are diversions placed before Faizabad for traffic moving from Rawal Dam Chowk to Murree Road, while diversions have also been set up for traffic moving from Faisal Avenue to Murree Road, Rawalpindi.
Alternatively, the traffic is being diverted to Islamabad Expressway.
