ISLAMABAD: The Ehsaas Kafaalat Policy for Special Persons will benefit 2 million families with a monthly stipend of Rs. 2,000/- according to Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Ehsaas Kafaalat Programme is set out to cater to the needs of people of all walks of society with due diligence. The poor and disabled will be receiving a monthly stipend of Rs.2,000/- under this initiative.
About Ehsaas Kafaalat Programme
Ehsaas Kafaalat is the Government’s programme through which it will give cash stipends of Rs. 2,000 monthly to bank accounts of the most deserving and poorest women across the country. Through a parallel Ehsaas policy initiative, women will also get better access to smartphones, as a step towards digital inclusion. For the programme, beneficiaries will be identified through a household survey and through Ehsaas NADRA Desk Registration Centres assisted by sms and Kafaalat web-service.
Ehsaas Kafaalat Policy for Special Persons
The government has incorporated disability policies with the Ehsaas Programme, prime minister Imran Khan said in a tweet made on International Day of Disabled Persons.
Two million families will benefit under the new “Ehsaas Kafaalat Policy for Special Persons”. They will be eligible for a monthly stipend of Rs. 2000. This is a step toward a disability-inclusive and sustainable post COVID-19 world.

Ehsaas Kafaalat Phase I
On 27th November the Ehsaas Kafaalat Phase I payment to the beneficiaries has already started. Under this scheme over 4.3 million women would benefit from the scheme.
The PM Imran Khan himself had visited the payment site in Islamabad, the disbursement was for the period from July to December 2020. Under this period the beneficiaries were paid Rs.12,000/-. The payment is made for 6 months. Additional beneficiaries will start receiving payment from December onward and will continue till next year.

Dr. Sania Nishtar
The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Dr. Sania Nishtar had briefed the PM Imran Khan about the measures taken to improve payment quality, actions to fight cyber-attacks, and modalities to facilitate women to open digital savings wallets.
She had informed through her tweet that the partnering banks Habib Bank and Bank AlFalah been conducting technical training of their retail agents to execute digital payments to Ehsaas beneficiaries.
Almost 7 million beneficiaries will benefit from the Ehsaas Kafaalat Programme. The disbursement under this scheme has already begun. The payments will be made in phases.
Ehsaas Programme
The Eshsaas program is about creating a welfare state. The Ehsaas Programme is to cater to the needs of extremely poor, orphans, widows, the homeless the disabled, those who risk medical impoverishment, the jobless, poor farmers, laborers, for the sick and undernourished; for students from low-income backgrounds and for poor women and elderly citizens. This plan is also about lifting lagging areas where poverty is higher.
Prime Minister’s Policy Statement
The Prime Minister’s Policy Statement for the welfare for the disabled also states:
- Ensuring universal access to assistive devices (e.g., cranes, wheelchairs, tripod/quadripod sticks, crutches and other assistive devices)
- 20 centers for the physically challenged in under-privileged districts in the public-private partnership mode
