According to PMD’s forecast, it was usual rain; however, it turned out to be the deadliest hailstorm with the heavy wind in the history of the twin cities Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
It started so unexpectedly that people were stranded in traffic and were unable to get out to secure their vehicles.
The vehicles standing in a parking lot in Markaz and the apartments were severely damaged.
The recent hailstorm that struck Islamabad and Rawalpindi left a trail of destruction across the twin cities, damaging not just solar infrastructure but also countless personal vehicles. Many car windows were shattered under the relentless hail, while in residential areas, broken windowpanes and uprooted trees caused major disruption to daily life and traffic.

Panic briefly swept through public spaces as children playing in parks were seen scrambling for cover when the hail began to fall. Amid the chaos, there was a silver lining — the storm brought a sudden drop in temperature, offering a welcome break from the scorching heat.
However, the storm also triggered power outages across several sectors, leaving many residents without electricity. Restoration efforts are currently underway, though officials warn that repairs to the damaged solar panels and electrical grids could take some time.

Authorities are urging citizens to stay cautious and report any damage to speed up recovery efforts. Meanwhile, energy experts are emphasizing the need for stronger, more resilient green energy infrastructure to withstand such extreme weather events in the future.
