Petrol price likely to be slashed by Rs 6.15 per litre

GOOD NEWS !! Yes there’s a light at the end of the tunnel and I am sure it’s not a train –  Government of Pakistan slashing prices of Petroleum Products next month.

The government is likely to cut the prices of petroleum products by Rs 6.15 a litre for the coming month of September.

According to sources, Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) is to send a summary to Petroleum Ministry for approve of new tariff.

Sources add that if the summary gets the ministry’s approval, petrol price will come down to Rs70.89 per litre.

This news came in the awake of UAE Minister shared on the tweeter, earlier today.

Petrol prices will be lower in September when a new monthly pricing system is announced following a government decision to lift long-standing subsidies on fuel, the UAE’s energy minister said in remarks published on Wednesday.

“We expect gasoline and diesel prices for September to be lower than in August,” he said on his Twitter page, according to the Dubai-based daily ‘Emarat Al Youm’.

He said the new monthly price formula for petrol and diesel for September would be announced on August 27
