ISLAMABAD: Chairman NAB Admiral (retired) Fasih Bokhari said Thursday that Rs 10-12 billion in corruption was being committed in Pakistan on a daily basis. During a news conference, Bokhari clarified that he was not the only one who had raised the issue of the high amount of corruption.
The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) had also identified Rs 300-350 billion in corruption. The level of corruption in the country had also been identified by the FBR and other local and foreign organizations. The NAB Chairman added that globally taxes contributed 17-20% to the economy while in Pakistan this was 9%.
