ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday sent an advice to the President Mamnoon Hussain to delay the execution of Saulat Mirza who was convicted in triple murder including MD KESC for 30 days
According to details, the 30-day postponement of death row convict will begin from April 1. Earlier this week, an Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) in Karachi had issued fresh death warrant of condemned prisoner Saulat Mirza for April 1.
This was the third time that death warrant of Saulat Mirza was issued. Previously, he was scheduled to be executed on March 19 at 5:30 AM.
But his execution was postponed at eleventh hour for 3 days on presidential orders after his video statement in which he made shocking revelations and confessions about target killing and allegations on leaders of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
Mirza was sentenced to death by an anti-terrorism court in May 1999 for murdering the managing director of then Karachi Electric Supply Corporation Shahid Hamid, his driver Ashraf Brohi and guard Khan Akbar in July 1997.
