Tehrik Labaik Ya Rasool Allah (TLYR) continued with the tenth consecutive day of their sit-in protest outside Data Darbar Lahore. The protestors are demanding that the contentious Faizabad agreement be enforced. The TLYR chief Khadim Rizvi has already issued April 12 (1600 hrs) as the deadline for Government to respond to their demands or else they would extend protest to other cities, block main routes including GT road/Motorway.
In Karachi, the TLYR reportedly announced the holding of a protest march at 2000 hrs today from Bahadurabad, Jamshed Town up to Karachi Press Club, Saddar Town.
Spontaneous outbreak of protests that could see blockages of some key roads around some of the major cities, more especially around Lahore, Rawalpindi/Islamabad and Karachi cannot be discounted if the TLYR demands are not meet.
Meanwhile, some residents of Margalla Hills have reportedly planned a protest march on Friday, 13 April 2018 within Islamabad in response to the death of one of their residents that occurred last week following a motor vehicle road accident involving a foreign national. Protesters are expected to assemble at around mid-day, at the Daman-e-Koh traffic signal, the place where the accident occurred.
