Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has announced a protest in Karachi on Tuesday (September 19) against rise in prices of petroleum products and increasing inflation..
During a press conference, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, the head of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi, urged citizens of Karachi to record their protest by stopping all vehicles on the roads / streets at 5:00 pm on Tuesday (19 September 2023).
He said that it is the best and most peaceful way to record protest against rise in petroleum prices and inflation. It will send a loud warning to the government to provide immediate relief to the people.

It is pertinent to mention that petroleum prices were increased from 16th September 2023 by the caretaker government. Currently, the price of petrol in Pakistan is Rs. 331.38 per litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) is being sold for Rs. 329.18 per litre.
