The civil judge Imtiaz Hussain Bhutto who is accused of rape of a woman in his chamber has refused to provide his DNA sample for testing in any government authorized laboratory in Pakistan.
Imtiaz Bhutto requested the court in a hearing on Friday to allow him to send his DNA sample aboard to the United States for testing however the court said that it would only allow this if the suspended judge incurred the cost of the test on which Imtiaz Bhutto refused saying that the provincial government should bear the cost.
The court also put another option on the table of getting his DNA sample tested from Aga Khan University Hospital’s laboratories but DSP Auranzeb Abbassi who is the investigating officer in the case rejected the suggestion saying that the law didn’t allow testing to be done at a non-government laboratory.
DSP Auranzed continued saying:
If the judge doubts the authenticity of labs in Sindh, he can go to a government-authorised lab in another province,
