A senior leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, has passed away. He had been sick for a long time with kidney disease, his son Munir Ahmed said.
His political party, JUI-F, confirmed the sad news on social media. His family will share details about his funeral later.
Hafiz Hussain Ahmed was an important politician in Pakistan. He served twice as a member of the National Assembly (1988–1990 and 2002–2007) and was also a Senator from 1991 to 1994.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep sorrow over his passing. He prayed for him and sent his support to the family.
The Prime Minister also said that Hafiz Hussain Ahmed was a wise and experienced leader.
