Justice for Aniqa – Killed by husband for not allowing second marriage

Justice for Aniqa – a wife and mother of three killed by her husband Mohsin Hayat with the help of his mother for not granting him the permission for a second marriage in Chiniot according to a report by ARY News.

A First Information Report (FIR) was registered by Nawazish, the victim’s maternal uncle who reported the incident at Lalian police station located in the Kot Ismail area after his niece was mercilessly killed by her husband and in-laws.

According to the FIR, the accused Mohsin Hayat with the help of his mother made his wife Aniqa forcefully gulp down water laced with poison after he was denied permission for a second marriage.

The couple was married for eight years and had two daughters and a son but despite all that, Mohsin Hayat had no trouble killing his wife and taking away the children’s mother.

According to reports, Aniqa also suffered physical abuse at the hands of Mohsin Hayat who couldn’t fulfill his mother’s wish for him to get married again in Chiniot.

Incidents such as this are becoming increasingly common and even though many trend on social media, a lot of times these just go unnoticed such as this one.

There is no trend demanding justice for Aniqa but the purpose of writing this is to shine light on the matter and hope people wake up and demand change so that lives of future victims could be spared.
