KARACHI: Social media echoes with “Justice For Arsalan”, the 12-grade student is brutally martyred in an alleged fake police encounter in Karachi, Sindh. The pain and agony of the parents of their beautiful young son are unimaginable. The videos shared on social media show the cry for “Justice For Arsalan”
The teenager was shot down in an alleged fake police encounter by Orangi Town police late Monday night.
The father of Arsalan Mr. Haji Liaquat is seen with the flag of Pakistan on his chest, he screams out ” I am a Pathan of Waziristan and demand blood for blood, as per Islamic Law.
Arsalan was allegedly killed in Karachi last night. According to his father’s statement, he was shot by police while shot outside his tuition center. Arsalan was with his friend who is also seriously injured in the incident. Mr. Haji Liaquat is taking the name of SHO Azam whom he is accusing of the brutal killing of his young son.
The Justice for Arsalan is trending on Twitter, the pain and disappointment of people are quite obvious.
The netizens demand Justice for Arsalan and want the government of Pakistan to immediately arrest and hand the killers in public.
This killing has also brought back the memories of Naqeebullah Mehsud who was killed in a police encounter in a similar way.
Mr. Haji Liaquat Mehsud
Mr. Haji Liaquat Mehsud is the president of the All Dumpers Association. He is a well-known transporter and resident of Manghopir.
The incident
According to the family, Arsalan Mehsud was a student of intermediate and was returning home from his coaching institute. He was killed by the police in a fake encounter.
According to police, DIG Nasir Aftab, chief of the West Range has formed a team to investigate the facts behind the encounter.
The police constable who shot Arsalan has been detained. In an earlier police statement, it was said the shootout occurred near the police station in Orangi Town No.5. They said an unknown suspect was killed in the exchange of fire while his companion fled the scene. The police also said they found one pistol with five bullets on the deceased. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and the police later found he was the son of Haji Liaquat Mehsud.
DIG Nasir Aftab has said he has taken serious notice of the incident and the investigation by the inquiry team is underway. Police constable Tauheed who fired shots is detained.
