Rape Cases and their Convictions
According to reports the reported rape cases filed across the country in the last six years are over 22,000. Only 0.03% of the accused have been convicted.
From a total number of 22,037 cases registered since 2015, 4,060 cases are pending in courts and only 18% have reached the prosecution stage.
With such a system, it is apparent that sexual assaults, rapes, and such cases will keep on rising. The system needs to speed up the process of all cases particularly the rape and sexual assault cases or else there is no hope at all.
