Final year student of the Centre of Excellence in Art and Design (CEAD) at the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MEUT) in Jamshoro, 22-year-old Majida Abbasi, was stoned to death by her husband, named Zahid Solangi, for wanting a divorce.
According to the details, the police recovered the mutilated body of Majida Abbasi from a sport near Ghulam Jakharo, a village in Jamshoro and shifted it to Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) Hospital for postmortem, while arresting her husband, Zahid Solangi for the murder.
Zahid Solangi, a final year student at the University of Sindh in Jamshoro had a love marriage with Majida Abbasi two years ago, but she had left him a few days and went to her parents, while demanding a divorce from her husband. However, he called her back on promises of reconciliation and took her to Ghulam Jakharo in Nooriabad, where she was killed.
Meanwhile, the suspect has handed himself over to the police and confessed to killing his 22-year-old wife. However, the reason behind their fight is still unknown, while some reports claim that Majida had left Zahid as he did not allow her to continue with her studies after marriage.
