SARGODHA: Nighat Parveen, a 30-year-old woman, became victim of honor killing in Sargodha. She was murdered by her brother for marrying a sixth time.
According to Geo News, 22-year-old Abdullah Hashim allegedly shot his sister Nighat Parveen to protect his family’s honor after she married for the sixth time.
The investigation into this honor killing case in Sargodha was launched after the husband of the deceased filed a complaint with the police that his wife had been kidnapped.

During the investigation, when the police question the victim’s brother, he admitted to killing his sister for honor stating that she had become a disgrace for the family during last few years.
Abdullah Hashim told police that the people of their village started questioning the family’s honor and his sister’s character which pushed him to take action.
According to police, the brother confessed to the honor killing stating that the incident occurred when his sister, Nighat Parveen, returned home after getting married for the sixth time.
He told police that he locked her in a room and shot her to death. The brother has been taken into custody and the weapon used to commit the crime has also been recovered.
Incidents of violence against women and children are becoming increasingly common in recent months. The recent incident of mother getting raped in front of her children at Lahore motorway shocked the country.
