Pakistan Meteorological Department on Saturday issued a second alert informing about the formation of an area of intense convection in the Arabian Sea having a potential of developing a cyclone 1575 km south of Pakistan.
The Met Department in its alert said that the broken clouds in the Arabian Sea show an area of intense convection with a potential to develop ‘a well-marked low pressure area’ or cyclogenesis, at a distance of 1575 km south of Pakistan.
The Tropical Cyclone Warning Centre (Karachi) is closely monitoring the local and regional conditions and in case of any cyclonic development weather advisory will be issued accordingly.
“At present, none of Pakistan’s coastal areas is under threat and the fishermen may continue their activities till the issuance of any warning,” said the Met Dept in its alert.
“However, all stakeholders and concerned authorities are advised to keep themselves abreast about weather advisories in coming days,”
