Starting Sunday morning, gas supply will be suspended for 24 hours in half of Karachi
According to a Sui Southern spokesperson, the shutdown, affecting both domestic and industrial consumers, is due to the joining of transmission pipeline work.
The impacted areas include:

- Qasba Town
- Orangi
- North Karachi
- North Nazimabad
- FB Area
- Gulberg
- Buffer Zone
- Site Industrial Area
- Baldia
- Ittehad Town
- Kemari
- Gulshan-e-Iqbal
- Ahsanabad
- Janjal Goth
- Super Highway surroundings
Gas supply will be suspended from 5 am on July 28 and will resume at 5 am on July 29. Consumers are advised to arrange alternative fuel sources during this period.
Recent Gas Developments in Sindh
In other news, Mari Petroleum Company has successfully discovered new gas reserves from five wells in Sindh. The company has completed the testing, production, and transmission of an additional 3 million metric standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas. This new supply from the Ghazij Gas Field is now being delivered to Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL).
The announcement came after detailed reports were submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
it pertinent to mention that a 24-inch diameter Sui gas pipeline in Mach was recently blown up by miscreants, causing a disruption in gas supply to several areas, including Quetta. The explosion led to a complete suspension of the gas supply in the affected regions.
