Karachi residents will experience a water shortage starting on Thursday due to ongoing development activities. The Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB) has cautioned the public about potential water supply disruptions from May 16 to May 19 because of these developments.
The suspension of operations at the New Pump House Gharo is attributed to the joint development efforts of K-Electric and KWSB. Consequently, individuals are urged to store water in their homes to mitigate any inconvenience.
Normally, KWSB supplies 640 million gallons per day (MDG) to the city. However, during the development phase, the city will receive approximately 13 million gallons per day (MDG) less water.
The spokesperson explained that the development work will span three days. During this time, new electrical equipment and panels will be installed at the Gharo pumping station to enhance its functionality.
This announcement underscores the importance of preparedness among Karachi’s residents to manage their water needs during the specified period of supply disruption.
