KARACHI: Moderate to heavy rain along with thunderstorms started in some parts of Karachi at midnight on 14 July 2021 as predicted by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) earlier this week.
The Monsoon Rainfall has begun across Pakistan, including Karachi and other cities across Sindh as reported yesterday Umarkot, Islamkot (Thar Desert) area received moderate rainfall.
Karachi Weather Update
According to Met Karachi Director Sardar Sarfraz forecasted that thunderstorms could form in Karachi and its surrounding areas by afternoon, however, the low-pressure system appears to be entering rapidly as Karachi is receiving moderate to heavy rainfall since midnight of 14 July, 2021.
The low air pressure will continue in the bay of Bengal and Karachi to receive more heavy rain and thunderstorms in the upcoming days.
In a separate statement, the PMD said humid monsoon winds are continuing to blow in lower Sindh, adding that another low pressure is present near Central India.
This low air pressure may affect lower Sindh from July 15. Rain is likely in all districts of lower Sindh till July 16, PMD confirmed.
