The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a new weather update for Karachi stating that heavy rainfall is expected in the port city and other parts of Sindh from July 24 (Sunday).
According to the weather update, there are chances of heavy rainfall with wind and thunderstorms tomorrow (July 24),” said the weather department in its latest advisory.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said that strong monsoon currents have started penetrating into eastern Sindh and will prevail till July 26 and 27.
Under this weather system, Karachi is expected to see widespread rain-wind / thunderstorms with scattered heavy and every heavy falls.
Possible Impacts
The heavy and very heavy rainfall may generate urban flooding and water logging in low-lying areas of Karachi, Hyderabad, Matiari, Thatta, Badin, Mirpurkhas, Tharparkar, Larkana, Sukkur, and other districts of Sindh during the forecast period.
Meanwhile, several areas of Karachi have already received light rain today, including Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Johar, Jinnah Terminal, Quaidabad, and Korangi.
