During the award ceremony, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan personally handed the Zayed Sustainability Prize to Sumiya Bibi, an orphan student at KORT Education in Pakistan. Sumiya, who tragically lost her parents in the 2005 earthquake, received this distinguished honor, shedding light on KORT’s impactful work in the realm of sustainable practices.
Having been established 18 years ago as an International Non-Profit Organization, the Kashmir Orphan Relief Trust has consistently demonstrated its dedication to supporting orphaned children through the provision of quality education, boarding facilities, food, clothing, and medical care.
This recognition not only highlights KORT’s commendable contributions to sustainable practices but also aligns with the broader societal objective of securing a better future for orphaned children. The participation of the Kashmir Orphan Relief Trust at COP28 not only underscores its commitment to the welfare of orphaned children but also establishes its standing as a global leader in the pursuit of sustainability and positive change.
