The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Government has announced six public holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr 2023.
According to the official notification, the six holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr 2023 will be observed from 21 April 2023 to 25 April 2023 (Friday to Wednesday) with normal work resuming from 27 April 2023 (Thursday).
“It is hereby notified for general information that 21st to 26th April, 2023 (Friday to Wednesday) shall be public holidays on the occasion of Holy Festival of Eid-ul-Fitr 2023 (1444 A.H).” said the notification.

On Thursday, the Federal Government had issued a notification announcing public holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr 2023 from 21st to 25th April 2023 (Friday to Tuesday).

Meanwhile, the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council (RHRC) has stated that Eid-ul-Fitr is likely to be observed on 22 April 2023 as chances of the Shawwal moon sighting on the 20th April are very low and Ramadan will complete 30 days this year.
However, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee (RHC) is set to meet on the 29th of Ramadan (20 April 2023) for the Shawwal moon sighting to confirm the dates.

Moreover, Pakistan Railways has announced five special trains for citizens, which will allow them to travel home and spend the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays with their families.
