The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that work has already started on a plan to generate 900MW electricity to overcome energy crisis in the province. Talking to new person, he said we intend to generate 2000 MW electricity through competitive bids to be published in the newspapers advertisements very soon.
He said a number of mega development projects including Peshawar Rapid Mass Transit System and generation of 300 megawatt electricity from gas resources have been launched.
Investors including Overseas Pakistanis can invest in the scheme of generating electricity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he added. He said restoration of peace in tribal areas was the responsibility of the federal government; adding that a broad-based national policy should be framed in consultations with all political parties in the country.
