Unidentified persons opened fire at the house of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Arbab Jahandad in Peshawar, police said.
The attackers however fled from the scene after retaliation.
Police reached the spot and collected a Kalashnikov and blood-stained clothes. Sources claimed that one of the attackers was injured in the incident. Police have launched a search operation in the area.
Earlier, a newly elected PTI MPA from Hangu, Farid Khan, was gunned down in a terrorist attack.
