3 terrorists were killed in exchange of fire with law enforcing agencies at Pawakai area near Peshawar today
According to Police sources‚ one policeman was martyred and one injured in the encounter. The militants has taken refuge in an under construction house in the area. On a tip-off the Police cordoned off the area and encircled the house.
A heavy contingent of security forces reached the area and started search operation. It is said that 2 to 3 militants are still present in the area.
Information Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mian Ifitkhar Hussain has said five militants had taken shelter in an under-construction house in Pawakai area near Bacha Khan Airport Peshawar.
He said due to tight security measures the militants could not escape.
He said search operation continue to completely clear the area.
Peshawar – Insurgents launched a second major attack in Peshawar within a few hours on Sunday morning after Saturday’s night raid at Peshawar Airport in which at least nine people including five terrorists and three civilians were killed.
Heavy gun fire being restored from both the security forces and insurgents who besieged an under construction house in Pawa Gai area, which locates close to Peshawar Airport.
According to reports, a police man was martyred in the attack, while an insurgent was also killed in the encounter.
Police sources said that four terrorists were still in the house who have heavy weapons including hand grenades and mortar shells.
SP Operations said that most of the insurgents hidden in the house have been killed. Number of terrorists could not be told, the SP stated.
The SP said that security forces have cordoned off the area and the operation would be completed soon.
SSP Operations also confirmed the casualty of one policeman.
Shahid termed the reports of reaching security forces on the spot late wrong, saying police rushed to the spot on time and launched the operation.
