The runway of Lahore Airport was temporarily closed after a DHL cargo plane suffered a tyre burst on Thursday, which lead to flight delays and cancellations.
According to the details, the incident occurred at 7:30PM when four tyres of the DHL cargo aircraft exploded during take-off at Lahore Allama Iqbal Airport. The aircraft still remains stuck at the airport four hours after the incident and airport administration is making every effort to resolve the matter.
The runway at Lahore Airport is likely to be cleared by 4:00AM on Friday as efforts are being made to clear the secondary runway of the Allama Iqbal International Airport.
According to airport administration, the closure of the runway will likely result in several flight delays. It is pertinent to mention that flight 406 from Karachi to Lahore has already been diverted to Islamabad Airport while departure flight PK-305 of PIA from Lahore to Karachi has been delayed.

The Boeing 763 heading for bahrain experienced an engine failure during takeoff, whilst slowing down from a high speed the tyres then burst, this would happen to almost any plane rejecting a takeoff.
