Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi recently announced the launch of 24/7 passport office in Karachi and Lahore. He shared this news on X, previously known as Twitter, highlighting how this move could transform how people access passport services. This decision is a significant step forward in making passport services more efficient and in tackling the ongoing difficulties citizens face in obtaining essential documentation.

Despite this progress, challenges remain, such as the recent shortage of lamination sheets used in passport production. These sheets, crucial for ensuring passport security features, are imported from Germany. The shortage has caused delays in passport issuance due to the high volume of daily applications. It highlights the ongoing need for careful monitoring and proactive measures to overcome logistical obstacles.
