The Chief Traffic Officer (CTO), Mustansar Feroze, has directed the traffic police officials to not allow any motorcyclists without a helmet to use main roads in Lahore. According to the details, the entry of motorcycle riders without a helmet has been restricted on important roads, including Mall Road, Canal Road, Jail Road, Ferozepur Road, and Gulberg.
The CTO said that it was crucial for motorcyclist to wear helmets while using important and busy highways and roads, adding that this rule applies to everyone, including officials and employees of semi-government organizations.
If someone is found to be in constant violation of the rule, they will face legal consequences under the negligence provisions. Furthermore, there will be no exceptions for any official or semi-government organization employee either.
The CTO added that everyone will be held accountable for their actions.
He further informed that there will be a blockade on Shahdara, GT Road, Barki Road, Bedian Road, Raiwind Road, Rohi Nala, Ferozepur Road, besides Multan Road, Allama Iqbal Road, Khayaban Jinnah Road, and Pico Road.
The canal will also be closed in remote areas.
CTO Mustansar Feroze added that strict measures are being taken to save lives and its very important for every motorcycle rider to wear helmet on main roads and highways.
