In honor of the annual urs celebrations of Hazrat Shah Hussain, affectionately known as Madhu Lal Hussain, a public holiday has been declared in Lahore on March 2 (Saturday).
The historic three-day festivities marking the 436th annual commemoration of Madhu Lal Hussain’s life and teachings are set to kick off in the provincial capital.
Dr. Tahir Raza, the esteemed Secretary Auqaf, is slated to inaugurate the celebrations by partaking in the traditional chador laying ceremony at the saint’s grave. This symbolic gesture signifies the commencement of the revered event, with devotees and religious dignitaries alike participating in the ceremony.
The Religious Committee, Ulema Mushaikh, and a multitude of devotees are anticipated to actively engage in the three-day event, fostering an atmosphere of spirituality and unity.
The teachings of Madhu Lal Hussain hold profound significance within the community and attract individuals from all walks of life to partake in the celebrations.
The Auqaf Department, as reported by The News, has allocated a budget of Rs459,000 for the Urs grant to ensure the smooth execution of the event. This financial provision underscores the government’s dedication to facilitating and preserving the traditions associated with the annual celebration.
Moreover, local law enforcement agencies have collaborated with the Auqaf Department to implement robust security measures to ensure the safety of all visitors.
