The National Highway Authority (NHA) has increased the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway M-2 toll tax rates, increasing the cost of standard vehicles to Rs. 1,210, an increase of Rs. 110 from the previous rate of Rs. 1,100.
According to the details, the increase in the toll rates for M-2 Motorway is part of a 20-year agreement between the National Highway Authority (NHA) and MS/More, a subsidiary of the Frontier Works Organization (FWO).
Under the agreement, the toll tax for Motorway M-2 is scheduled to be increased by 10% every year, adding to the cost for people traveling between Lahore and Islamabad.

The rates for different vehicle categories have been increased. For cars, the old rate was Rs. 1,100, but now it has gone up by Rs. 110, making the new rate Rs. 1,210. Meanwhile, wagons saw a rise from Rs. 1,840 to Rs. 2,020, which is a difference of Rs. 180.
The rate for coasters increased by Rs. 240, from Rs. 2,590 to Rs. 2,830, while buses now cost Rs. 4,040, up from Rs. 3,690, showing an increase of Rs. 350. Furthermore, trucks experienced a rise of Rs. 450, with the new rate being Rs. 5,250 instead of the previous Rs. 4,800.
Lastly, trailers saw the highest increase of Rs. 600, with the new rate now being Rs. 6,770 compared to the old rate of Rs. 6,170.
