The Lahore High Court (LHC) has revised the market timings and allowed them to remain open till midnight across the province until Eid-ul-Fitr.
The decision was made by Lahore High Court’s (LHC) Justice Shahid Karim during a hearing environment-related hearing on the outset of smog and the rise in air pollution.
As per the court’s directives, the markets in Lahore are now allowed to remain open till midnight on weekdays and 1:00 am on weekends until Eid-ul-Fitr.
Meanwhile, the restaurant timings in Lahore have also been revised, and they are now allowed to open from Iftar until Sehar throughout the month of Ramadan.
Furthermore, the Member Judicial Commission raised concerns over traffic disruption caused by insufficient parking at restaurants. As a response, the court has directed restaurant owners to submit a proper parking plan at the next hearing.
