The Regional Meteorological Center has provided the latest weather update, stating that isolated heavy rain and hailstorms are expected across Punjab, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, and other major cities in the province. A strong westerly wave is affecting most parts of the country and will extend to the upper parts on April 19.
According to the weather update, there are chances of rain, wind, or thunderstorms (with isolated heavy rain / hailstorm) in Kashmir, Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali, Pakpattan, Sahiwal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, Kot Addu, Muzaffargarh, Rahim Yar Khan, Sadiqabad, Khanpur, Bahawalpur, and Bahawalnagar.
Furthermore, there are chances of rain across Pakistan, with PMD issuing warnings against potential flash flooding in local waterways, including nullahs and streams in areas like Dir, Swat, Chitral, and Kohistan. The PMD has shown concerns over landslides in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galiyat, Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan.
Meanwhile, Islamabad has been experiencing intermittent rain all day, and the weather is expected to be similar for the next 24 to 48 hours. Residents across Pakistan are advised to stay informed about the local weather and take the necessary precautions to avoid any untoward incidents.
