LAHORE: More areas in Lahore have been placed under smart lockdown for a period of one week starting midnight (9 July 2020) after emergence of several coronavirus cases from these localities according to the Lahore District Commissioner Danish Afzal.
The number of coronavirus cases in Punjab have surged past 83,000 while the death toll has topped 1,900 with Lahore being the most affected city in the province.

List of Lahore are being placed under smart lockdown:
- Township (Block A-2)
- DHA-EME (Complete)
- Wapda Town (Complete)
- Johar Town (Block C)
- Chungi Amar Sadhu (Main Bazaar and adjacent areas)
- Punjab Government Scheme
- Green City
Earlier several other areas in Lahore were placed under lockdown which has now ended. These areas saw improvements in the coronavirus cases being reported as a result of smart lockdown.
