Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif recently disclosed plans for the introduction of electric buses in Lahore. This announcement came during her participation in the inauguration ceremony of the Shahdara Metrobus Station’s remodeling project in Lahore.
During the event, the Chief Minister inspected the facilities at the Shahdara Metro Bus Station and commended the quality of the construction work. In a briefing session, the Secretary of Transport apprised Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif that the metro bus service caters to over 176,000 commuters daily.
Furthermore, it was highlighted that a dedicated ticket counter exclusively for women has been established for the first time at the Shahdara metro bus station. This initiative aims to enhance convenience and accessibility for female passengers.
Moreover, CM Maryam has instructed the Minister of Transport to present a plan for enhancing the quality of stations and the overall infrastructure of the metro and Orange Line train.
