Several roads in Lahore are currently blocked resulting in massive traffic jams across the city because of Tehreek-e-Labbaik (TLP) protests taking place after the religious party’s chief Saad Hussain Rizvi was taken into custody on Monday.
The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) is providing traffic updates on social media with regards to the TLP protests taking place in Lahore.
According to sources, the Punjab Government has called in paramilitary forces to control the situation because of worsening conditions across the provincial capital.
As per the latest Lahore traffic update provided by the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) on social media, the following roads are currently closed so all citizens are recommended to plan their commute accordingly:
- Raiwind Road, Araiyaan Pind
- Karol Ghatti towrads Ring Road
- Batti Chowk towards Mahmood Booti Ring Road
- Shahdara Chowk towards Number 25 Stop
- LDA Chowk
- Khayaban Chowk, Shanghai Flyover

According to some sources, there are fears of oxygen shortage for coronavirus patients at hospitals in Lahore due to massive traffic jams across the city. Meanwhile, the Punjab Health Minister Yasmeen Rashid has appealed to protestors to give way to trucks with oxygen cylinders and also ambulances to save lives.
