In a bid to improve transportation facilities, the interim Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, has given the directive to transform Lahore’s Lari Adda into a state-of-the-art airport-style terminal.
Allocating a budget of Rs. 9 billion, the interim CM has greenlit the construction of a new bus terminal in the provincial capital, to be erected on the former bus station site in Badami Bagh.
The details reveal that the bus terminal will boast contemporary amenities such as bus bays, spacious roads, restrooms, and waiting areas. Additionally, a seven-story parking plaza, valued at Rs. 4 billion and covering an area of 46 kanals, will be erected at the bus terminal.
This plaza is set to accommodate parking for up to 700 cars. In the coming days, Deputy Commissioner of Lahore, Rafia Haider, will convene a meeting with relevant departments to deliberate on this significant project.
It is noteworthy that Mohsin Naqvi recently inaugurated several multi-billion rupee projects. In November, the interim CM unveiled four major projects for public use, including the Akbar Chowk Flyover, Cavalry Ground Underpass, Bedian Road Underpass, and Shahdara Flyover.
