A branch of Layers Bakery at Bahria Town in Rawalpindi has been sealed by authorities after a video of a cockroach inside the display rack went viral on social media. According to the details, Assistant Commissioner (AC) Qandeel Fatima Memon was directed to take immediate action by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi.
Layers, a popular bakery with multiple branches in Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Islamabad is not new to such kind of publicity. Earlier, a video went viral showing a lizard baked into a Layers Bakery cake. However, the popular chain was quick to deny the rumors and claimed that it was an attempt to malign their reputation.
However, this time the evidence was much clear as the recorded video that went viral clearly shows a live cockroach roaming inside one of their display racks. As a result, Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has inspected Layers Bakery alongside AC Memon and sealed the premises.
