In another upsetting news for an already troubled population, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has raised LPG Price in Pakistan shortly after the Government jacked up prices of petroleum products.
According to a notification by OGRA, the price of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LGP) in Pakistan has been increased by Rs. 60 per kg to Rs. 264 per kg.
The increase in price has brought the price of a domestic LPG cylinder up by Rs. 703, which will now be sold at Rs. 3,115, while the price of a commercial cylinder has been raised by Rs. 2,706 to the new price of Rs. 11,984.
Furthermore, the price of LPG in Pakistan has been increased at a time when natural gas is already in short supply and people are relying on LPG cylinders for daily tasks like cooking and heating.
It is pertinent to mention that the Federal Government has jacked up prices of petroleum products by Rs. 35 per litre on 29 January 2023 and these are expected to rise further in the coming days.
