A man was arrested in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) for hitting a traffic police officer after violating a traffic signal. The incident occurred near the Saudi Embassy.
Traffic Constable Sadaqat tried to stop a vehicle from running a red light. Instead of stopping, the driver accelerated. When the constable stepped in front of the vehicle, the driver did not stop and ran over him. The impact threw Constable Sadaqat onto the car’s bonnet.
Despite this, Constable Sadaqat held on and managed to stay on top of the vehicle as the driver tried to escape. Another policeman on a motorcycle captured the incident on video.
Eventually, the traffic police managed to stop the vehicle and arrested the driver, identified as Ali Hassan, son of Malik Bashir. Ali Hassan was taken to the Gizri Police Station and faces multiple charges under the Pakistan Penal Code.
This incident highlights the dangers traffic police face and the importance of following traffic rules to ensure public safety.
