ISLAMABAD: Pakistani Journalist Matiullah Jan has been reported missing by his family according to the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) on Monday.
The HRCP took to Twitter demanding the government to ensure the safe return of the Matiullah Jan saying:
HRCP demands that the government immediately ensure the safe recovery of journalist Matiullah Jan, whose family confirms that he has gone missing.

According to Geo News, Independent Urdu interviewed the journalist’s wife who said that her husband’s car was outside her school G-G area of Islamabad with the keys still inside.
Matiuallah Jan’s wife also said:
I have been told some people forcibly took away my husband,
Police have started an investigation into the matter and officials from the Aabpara Police Station are working on acquiring the CCTV footage of the incident.
The Twitter account account of Matiullah Jan is being operated by his son after the journalist went missing. He has shared a series of Tweets demanding that his father be found and those responsible brought to justice.
He also shared a tweet showing a CCTV footage of the alleged incident.
Matiullah Jan’s son also retweeted a video showing a Suzuki Baleno that was allegedly used by the kidnappers.
So far there are no further updates on the matter. However Amesty International has also tweeted sharing concern over the incident and the wellbeing of Matiullah Jan after he went missing. They demanded that authorities must “establish his whereabouts immediately”.
