The Metro bus service in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad will resume from tomorrow as coronavirus lockdown has been lifted by the Punjab Government and Islamabad Administration.
The Metro bus service in Rawalpindi and Islamabad will continue from tomorrow (12 August 2020) with the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
All Metro bus operators have been informed of the decision by the local administration to resume service which has been suspended since March after the lockdown was imposed to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Activities are normalizing across the country as the government has lifted restrictions of the coronavirus lockdown that were put in place in March to control the outbreak of the coronavirus.
Punjab Government has lifted the lockdown allowing all sectors to operate under strict standard operating procedure (SOPs) to make sure the coronavirus stays under control.
However, marriage halls and educational institutions are still under lockdown until next month when a final decision regarding reopening of these two sectors will be made depending on the situation of the coronavirus and recommendations from health authorities.

Similarly, Sindh Government also lifted lockdown throughout the province however, strict standard operating protocols (SOPs) are in place for businesses that have allowed to operate.
Marriage halls and educational institutions are still closed similar to Punjab although the notification issued by the Sindh government states that these two sectors will be allowed to reopen on September 15, 2020.
