The much awaited metro bus service from Peshawar Morr to Islamabad International Airport will likely become operational next month (April 2022) as metro buses are expected to arrive in the country by end of March 2022 or early next month via sea freight from China.
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is taking all possible steps to provide the best facilities to the citizens of Islamabad. In this regard, the authority is taking special measures to provide quality travel facilities for local commute for the citizens, which includes launching the metro bus service from Peshawar Morr to Islamabad International Airport
According to details, third party pre-shipment inspection of buses from Peshawar Morr to Islamabad International Airport has been completed in China. The buses will be sent to Pakistan on March 15, 2022 and will reach Pakistan in 20 days. Similarly, the trial run of Metrobus bus service will start in the first week of April.
Furthermore, a total of 30 buses will run on this route (Orange Route) and these buses have been painted in orange color to suit the Orange Route. On this occasion, the management of Capital Development Authority said that the launch of this service will provide modern and quality travel facilities to the citizens of Islamabad.
It is pertinent to mention that the Metro Bus route from Peshawar Morr to Islamabad International Airport was constructed in year 2016-17, which goes along the sidelines of Srinagar Highway toward New Islamabad International Airport. However, the stations were incomplete and current government issued the funds to complete this project.
It is pertinent to mention that Capital Development Authority (CDA) was planning to inaugurate the metro bus service on March 23, 2022, but the delay on the part of the manufacturing company caused the inauguration to be pushed forward.
