Mobile Operators Offer Free Calls in Flood Affected Areas

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced that all Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs) will provide free calls (on-net / same network) to all their subscribers in flood affected areas even if they have zero / nil balance.

Furthermore, there will be no call setup charges applicable on call connection and customers having no balance will be able to make on-net calls.

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) added that it will continue to monitor the communication channels in the affected areas, ensuring connectivity and providing updates, where necessary.

Meanwhile, Jazz has confirmed that it will be providing free minutes to customers for Jazz to Jazz and Jazz to PTCL calls in order to facilitate the people in the flood affected areas and to continue the relief activities.

Donate to Flood Relief Fund Through SMS

Moreover, PTA has announced 9999 SMS code for Flood Relief Donations, which is going to enable mobile subscribers to donate funds to the Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund 2022 to help people affected by the severe flooding across the country.

Using the service, you will be able to donate Rs. 10 by typing ‘fund’ and sending an SMS to ‘9999’.
