Internet and mobile services remain suspended in Rawalpindi and Islamabad (twin cities) for a second day due to the ongoing Faizabad Dharna (sit-in) by Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP).
Earlier, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) stated that mobile services will be restored by 6am on 16th November but cellular networks are still suspended in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
Although signals were partially restored in Islamabad around 2:30am till 7:30 in the morning after which they were suspended again without any notification from authorities.
The Deputy Commissioner Islamabad is usually very active on Twitter but this time, the official has provided to update regarding the matter and people continue to suffer due to the Faizabad Dharna.
The last update provided by DC Islamabad regarding the traffic congestion taking place because of TLP workers staging a sit at Faizabad Interchange.
Meanwhile, the citizens are demanding closure of schools and colleges to severe traffic congestion as well as closure of most roads leading to and from Faizabad since authorities have placed containers to restrict the protestors.
