At today’s ceremony, Minister Naqvi inspected the buses and commended Chairman Capital Development Authority Muhammad Ali Randhawa and his team for their efforts in launching this initiative.
During the event, the Interior Minister experienced a ride on an electric bus, using a token from an electronic machine for the journey.
Speaking to the media, he announced that 33 buses will start operations in the initial phase, with a total of 166 buses planned for the entire project.
Minister Naqvi expressed gratitude to the Turkish Ambassador, the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, and the National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation for their support.
Approximately 16,000 people are expected to use these electric buses daily in Islamabad. The buses will operate from 6 AM to 10 PM, with a dedicated charging station established to support the fleet.
