LAHORE: The Punjab Government is expanding its smart lockdown in Lahore to more areas as number of coronavirus cases keep mounting in the city especially since Eid-ul-Fitr.
Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid in a press conference on Wednesday said that seven more areas in Lahore will be placed under lockdown from 25 June 2020 till 30 June 2020. A notification has also been issued by the Punjab Home Department in this regard.
Last week, several areas in Lahore were sealed for being coronavirus hotspots by the Punjab Government after many cases emerged.

Additional Areas in Lahore to be placed under Smart Lockdown:
- Gulberg (All Phases)
- Model Town (All Blocks)
- Faisal Town (All Blocks)
- Garden Town (All Blocks)
- Defence Housing Authority (All Phases)
- Gulshan-e-Ravi (All Blocks)
- Walled City (Areas inside all the Gates)
There will be certain exemptions as stated earlier which include grocery stores, tandoors, medical stores, meat shops, bakeries, fruit and vegetable shops and even restaurant takeaways. There will be a complete restriction on movement of people unless they are traveling to and from one of exempted services.
