ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced that mosques in Pakistan cannot be closed under any circumstances amid rising coronavirus cases across the country but strict implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) is required.
The decision was made in a meeting of PM Imran Khan with the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Noorul Haq Qadri on Friday.
During the meeting, the premier said that the federal minister should keep in touch with the Ulema and the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) to stay informed about the coronavirus situation in the country.
It was discussed that implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) must be ensures across all mosques in Pakistan to curb the spread of coronavirus among Ulema and elder citizens during sermons and daily prayers.
