The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) has closed Motorway M-2 (Islamabad-Lahore) due to dense fog in the region.
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department’s (PMD) website, there is dense fog on Motorway M-2’s Pindi Bhattian – Lahore stretch, Islamabad – Kallar Kahar stretch of the motorway, and Kallar Kahar – Pindi Bhattian part of the road.
Pindi Bhattian – Lahore and Islamabad – Kallar Kahar sectors of the Motorway M-2 are covered with dense fog with a visibility of less than 50 meters, while Kallar Kahar to Pindi Bhattian currently has moderate fog with visibility of 51-200 meters.
Furthermore, the situation will get worse as the night progresses as per PMD’s website.
Therefore, the National Highway and Motorway has closed down Motorway M-2 (Islamabad-Motorway) until the fog clears up.
