Motorway police officer Adeel Shah has succumbed to injuries after Peshawar Toll Plaza incident where he was deliberately hit by a speeding car while police officials signaled the driver to stop the vehicle.
The driver of the speeding car has been arrested by Chamkani police and identified as Junaid, a 26-year-old resident of Islamabad, who was on his way to Peshawar.

According to the details, the driver was signaled to stop the vehicle at the Peshawar Toll Plaza but in an attempt to flee, he ran over the motorway police officer Adeel Shah, who sustained multiple injuries.
However, the motorway police officer Adeel Shah has succumbed the injuries he received in the Peshawar Toll Plaza incident, said a statement by the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP).

The accused, Junaid, has said that the accident took place because of a break failure. However, as per the information provided by the Motorway Police Control, the vehicle was travelling at 160km/h and had fled previous signals to stop. Therefore, the Peshawar Interchange was informed in an attempt to stop the vehicle.
